1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the SideDraft Chrome extension ("Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

SideDraft is a free Chrome extension that provides a persistent rich-text side editor alongside AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok) and allows users to:

  • Write, format, and edit text in a distraction-free editor
  • Transfer selected text to AI chat input fields with one click
  • Insert AI responses from chat back into the editor
  • Save and reuse snippets of AI-generated content
  • Export documents in multiple formats (PDF, Markdown, HTML, Plain Text)
  • Transfer text from any website into the editor via context menu

3. Free to Use

SideDraft is provided completely free of charge. There are no premium tiers, subscriptions, or hidden fees. We reserve the right to change the pricing model in the future, but any changes will be clearly communicated and will not affect the version you already use.

4. Your Responsibilities

4.1 AI Platform Accounts

SideDraft requires you to have valid accounts with the AI platforms you wish to use (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok). You are responsible for maintaining your own accounts and complying with each platform's terms of service. SideDraft is not affiliated with any AI platform.

4.2 Content Ownership

All content you create with SideDraft — including drafts, snippets, and exported documents — is entirely yours. We claim no ownership or intellectual property rights over your content.

4.3 AI Content

Any content generated by AI platforms through the Extension is subject to the terms and ownership policies of the respective AI provider. You are responsible for understanding and complying with those policies, including attribution requirements, commercial usage rights, and accuracy obligations.

4.4 Accuracy

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, biases, or misleading information. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and fact-checking any content before publishing or using it for any purpose. SideDraft makes no guarantees about the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated text.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SideDraft to:

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Generate or distribute defamatory, harassing, or threatening content
  • Create content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
  • Redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit the Extension without prior written permission
  • Attempt to bypass any security measures or access unauthorized features

6. Intellectual Property

The SideDraft extension, including its source code, design, branding, and functionality, is owned by Montr AI and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for its intended purpose.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Extension's code or design without our express written consent.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

SideDraft is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
  • The Extension will function correctly with every update to supported AI platforms
  • The Extension will be compatible with every browser version or system configuration
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your intended use

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SideDraft and Montr AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Extension, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, drafts, or document content
  • Damage to your device, browser, or operating system
  • Issues caused by interactions with third-party AI platforms
  • Consequences of using AI-generated content without verification
  • Business interruption or loss of productivity

9. Platform Changes and Updates

SideDraft interacts with third-party websites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok) through DOM manipulation. If these platforms change their interfaces, SideDraft functionality may be temporarily affected. We will work to release updates quickly, but we cannot guarantee continuous compatibility at all times.

Extension updates are distributed automatically through the Chrome Web Store.

10. Termination

You may stop using SideDraft at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We reserve the right to discontinue the Extension at any time, though we currently have no plans to do so.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in an updated "Last Updated" date above. We will notify users of material changes through the Chrome Web Store listing or within the Extension itself.
